Ogun Appoints Dr Kayode Osenii Into Its Alternative Medicine Board

Ogun State Government has appointed a Natural Health columnist with The Radiance and the Chief Natural Health Consultant/Director of Alayo Health and Wellness Centre, Abeokuta, Dr Kayode Oseni, into the Elders Consultative Forum of its Alternative Medicine Board (OGAMB).

His letter of appointment, signed by the Board’s Registrar/Secretary, Mrs. M.O. Olaniyan and dated January 21, 2021, said: “Sequel to the inauguration of the newly established Ogun State Alternative Medicine Board, I am directed to humbly inform you that you have been appointed into the Board’s Elders Consultative Forum, a think-tank that is saddled with the responsibility of ensuring the actualisation of the vision and the mission of the Ogun State Government in setting up the Board.

“I am to urge you to kindly reciprocate the gesture of the Ogun State Government in selecting you as a worthy person for this appointment.”

With the appointment, he has been given the opportunity to serve the state government through the board in giving its Health Care delivery programme to the people of the state.

Reacting to the appointment, he said:

With immense gratitude to the Almighty and a deep sense of service, I promise to keep doing my best in the service of Healing. I thank you all for your moral support and encouragement over the years.”

Oseni, who is the State Coordinator of both the Association of Physicians of Complimentary and Alternative Medicine, and the Nigerian Council of Physicians of Natural Medicine, has been writing the column: “Nature Ways with Kayode Oseni,” in The Radiance since 2018.

He is a certified and licensed Naturopath and Alternative Health provider, and has been practicing for about three decades as the Chief Natural Health Consultant/Director of Alayo Health and Wellness Centre, a facility that provides a diverse range of Natural health care services including Herbalism, Oriental Medicine, and Energy Therapy in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.

But what is, perhaps, more remarkable about this health expert is his tireless devotion to education and research on diseases and the latest trends in alternative treatment approaches among other related issues in the global health care system, the findings of which, he eagerly shares with his patients, friends, colleagues and even the public, via highly informative and educative essays, written in inimitably engaging, simple and lucid style on the multi-social media platforms.

Dr. Oseni opens up the fields of African Traditional Medicine, ancient Chinese Medicine and the Ayurveda of India, Crystal healing, Aura and Chakra healing, among others, highlighting their secrets and wonders. Undoubtedly, discussing the subjects under this umbrella may sound esoteric to some, but he always manages to remove the toga of mysteries often woven around them, as he fills up the knowledge gap with his free, open, and matter-of-factly probing style.

He writes with as much objectivity and authority as he does with sincere caution. This is evident in his critical assessment of facts and submissions, planked on his versatility and expertise as a health professional, juxtaposed with his acknowledged limitation of being self-taught in these other less-known modes of therapy.

Dr MKO as he is popularly called, a coinage from his names – Maruff Kayode Oseni – is a teacher of Natural Health through his many articles in some National newspapers, and through giving Health talks on radio and television.

He is an author, and his book titled the Healers Manual, published in 2019 still remains a masterpiece till date.

It is through his works that he was invited to be a full member of the Nigerian Council of Physicians of Natural Medicine. And in less than a year after becoming a member, he was appointed the Ogun State Coordinator of the Council.

It is through his activities as a state coordinator that the newly inaugurated Ogun State Board of Alternative Medicine recognises him as a practitioner with passion and commitment to Natural Healing and thus appointed him into the Elders Consultative Forum of the Board.

Remarkably, in today’s world of superficiality and commercialism, it is rare to find individuals or works of sound worth or borne out of genuine motivation. Many people are in vocations for which they are not only ill-equipped, but also do not believe in, or practice with sufficient zeal that could suggest that they were, perhaps specifically born into or for such tasks. Work, to this breed of persons, is, therefore, often a mere matter of “bread and butter.”

From a personal knowledge of him and his professional practice as an Alternative Health practitioner, Dr. Maruff Kayode Oseni (MKO) certainly does not belong to this flock. He can be classed among the rare species who have come to see their life occupations as sacred callings, the joy of fulfillment of which is, perhaps, as important, if not more important, than the material reward accruing from it.

Such professionals constantly strive to develop their innate gifts and improve their capabilities and stock of knowledge in the relevant areas of concern to benefit their world.

Oseni attended Lagos State Polytechnic, Lagos State between 1986 and 1989; University of Lagos (College of Medicine), Lagos State, 1989 – 1992; and National College of Natural Medicine, Lagos State, 2018 – 2020.

His academic qualifications are First Leaving Certificate; WAEC/GCE; ND (Drugs & Chemical Technology); Professional Degree in Naturopathy; Professional Master’s Degree in Energy Medicine (In view)

He is a member of the following professional bodies: Tianshi Group International; Tasly Group; Ogun State Traditional Healers Association; and The Nigerian Council of Physicians of Natural Medicine.

He has been the Ogun State Coordinator of the Nigerian Council of Physicians of Natural Medicine from 2018 till date; and Chief Natural Health Consultant at Alayo Health Wellness Centre, Abeokuta, 1994 till date.

He has won the award of Best Practitioner of Herbal Medicine for the year 2020 given by The Nigeria Legendary Awards.

Also, he also runs a weekly column on Natural Health in The Saturday Sun
